If you are travelling abroad for either Dental treatment, Cosmetic surgery, Elective surgery or IVF/Fertility treatment and you have travel insurance, you should check the cover provided as you may not be covered. If not, you will need a specialist insurance product.
Medical Travel Shield introduces the particular insurance you may need.

Cover for cancellation of your trip will start from the date of issue or the day you pay for your trip, whichever is the later.

The Policy Summary documents include a summary of cover and all contact details for assistance abroad and making a claim.
The insurance does not cover any travel to any country which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all but essential travel.

Patient C travels to Brazil for cosmetic surgery from the UK. Her trip is for 13 days.
The cost of MTS is £251.17.
Patient D travels to Turkey for cosmetic surgery from the UK. Her trip is for 5 days.
The cost of MTS is £82.18.
Patient E travels to Cyprus for cosmetic surgery from the UK. His trip is for 10 days.
The cost of MTS is £104.54.
Patient F travels to Colombia for cosmetic surgery from the UK. Her husband is accompanying her. Her insurance covers her and her husband. Her trip is for 10 days. The cost of MTS is £274.18.
Patient G travels to Germany for fertility treatment from the UK. Her husband is accompanying her. Her trip is for 8 days. Her insurance covers her and her husband. The cost of IVFTS is £95.37.
Remember if you are having treatment your normal travel insurance may be void, so you may need specialist cover.
